Frequently Asked Questions

Can non-Cisco employees attend the trip?

Everyone working at Cisco Amsterdam (including sub-contractors) is invited to attend the trip. Employees can also invite guests from outside of the company, however these guests will remain their responsibility throughout the trip. Employees inviting guests are also responsible for ensuring that all payments are made on their guest's behalf.

I've never been skiing or snowboarding before. Is the event suitable for me?

Yes. We recommend that you consider taking a beginner's course before the trip to optimise your time on the slopes, however it should also be possible to arrange for lessons in resort upon arrival. Please note that lessons are not included in the package price.

Do I need special clothes / equipment?

If you don't have your own skis / snowboard and boots you'll need to hire some. There are a selection of hire shops in resort. You will also need to bring along wintersports clothing. If it's your first wintersports trip feel free to ask the team for advice. NB: equipment rental is not included in the package price.

Can I drive or fly instead of taking the bus?

You are welcome to arrange for your own transportation to the resort however we cannot offer any discounts if you choose to take this option.

What can I bring with me?

There is a limit of one normal size bag/suitcase + 1 set of skis/snowboard (in bag) + 1 boot bag + 1 small item of hand baggage per person. Those bringing snowboards are asked to remove the bindings before the journey. Luggage that exceeds the allowance will not be loaded.

How do I pay for the trip?

We will ask you to transfer your payment to a bank account using electronic transfer to account number 9469201 in the name of L J Griffith, ING Bank Amsterdam - please use the reference SKI TRIP and YOUR NAME when transferring funds. See payment page for further details.

Do I have to pay a deposit as soon as I book for the winter sports trip?

Your booking will only be finalised once we have received your €75 deposit. See the payment page for further details.

What happens if I need to cancel my place on the trip?

If you are already signed up for the trip but can no longer attend, please contact us as soon as you can.

Please note that if you cancel before Friday December 16th 2011 your deposit may be refunded, but only in the event that you find a suitable replacement. If you cancel after Friday December 16th 2011 all money already paid is non-refundable. For this reason we recommend that you arrange for your own personal cancellation insurance (this is NOT included in the package price). For further details please see the payment page.

What happens if I'm late making my payment?

If you miss the payment deadline you risk the chance of your place being cancelled. This is because we owe this money to the Tour Operators and risk losing our booking if we don't make the deadline. See payment page for further details.
